YMCA and a fast run

On thanksgiving day, I ran in the 40th annual Dallas Turkey Trot. I chose the 8 mile course over the 3 miler, and ran with over 30,000 people. It was awesome. Not to mention it was 38 degrees that morning.

My goal was to finish in 65 minutes, or a 8:08 pace, just slightly faster than the pace I kept at the Rock N Roll 1/2 marathon 2 months ago.

But, I was uber pleased when I got the results, saying my chip time was 1:02:07, keeping a 7:46 mile pace.

How I compared to the pack:

  • Overall, I finished 709th out of 4152 people running the 8 mile course.
  • In my age group, 25-29, I finished 64th out of 282.
  • As a male, 593rd out of 2452.
  • 1st place for all participants from Sunnyvale, CA! Woot! (I was the only one….shhhh).

But It was still tons of fun.
