Back On the Team

Last week was the beginning of the Fall Season of our tri team for Team In Training. I have signed up to be a training captain again, and plan on riding in the Silverman event. It is a half-Ironman. Yup. I have gone from nuts to crazy.

About a month ago I got my braces off. YeeHaw!!! So, with many delays, I have finally gotten around to taking a really horrible picture. Enjoy!

Ladies and Gentlemen…. with only 3 weeks remaining, I am very very excited.

I just got back from the orthodontist and he has scheduled my braces removal appointment for July 9. Just 3 small weeks away! I am sure it will go quickly, but boy oh boy, I just can’t wait.

Every Thursday night, I have a chance to cook for my boyz. Last night was a return to Praha, where we had a wooden plank, filled with bell peppers, tomatoes, olives, cucumbers, and a big hunk of roasted pork. Then, wine, of course. Followed by the fresh, now in season, california strawberry shortcake. 1 long word….. yummydoodle!

it’s only hair

with my recent triathlon, having raised over $1000 to shave my head into a mohawk, shave my legs, and color my remaining hair purple, I have had some interesting ideas.

When my mother had cancer and started chemo, she shaved her head, and I shaved mine too. Unfortunately, she ended up dying from that cancer, but from that, 3 months later, came my salvation. It was this thought that there is new life that is represented in the ritual of the regrowth of hair, especially after chemo.

So, I am waiting expectantly for God to use my purple mohawk experience and turn that into some form of new-ness and growth.
